Important: Be positive, suggest general solutions, don't address parties or politicians.

Things below are just brainfarts, add your own!

In the Netherlands, traffic is getting worse everyday. Air pollution is above the allowed maximum. How to solve this? (Might apply to other countries too.)

  • Promote working nearby home. Governmental employers first to set the tone, accept new employees only if living nearby. Make job swapping easier. Don't let employers pay for fuel or lease out diesel or petrol fuel powered cars.
  • Make petrol, gas and diesel much more expensive, make electric or H2 cars cheaper, improve public transport.
  • Maximum speed for all traffic at 90kph. It sounds stupid, but this helps to get faster to work with less fuel consumption. Why?
    • A lot less jams and ghost jams, trucks are not mobile roadblocks anymore as they travel at the same speed, safety is improved, car density can go up, less accidents.
    • Maximum speed is lower, but average speed goes up and people get more relaxed and less agitated, less health costs!
    • Air pollution drops significantly as it is more efficient to drive slower and on a more even speed. As a result you'll have less health costs again!
    • Many of the speed signs can disappear, this also saves a lot of money.

Everybody has the right to get a kid(s), but this planet is getting too crowded. This problem should be discussed more frequently and openly to the public. If a population decreases in a country it is not always a bad thing! It would be great if the planet population increase can be halted or even slightly reversed.

Economical growth should not be a goal ever, economical sustainability with the main goal to reduce pollution is a lot better.

Lithium battery regulations. Lithium is not that abundant on our planet and batteries are hard (and expensive) to recycle. Most batteries embedded in devices such as mobile phones get charged to 100% each cycle. If this is limited to 80%, most batteries will last up to 5 times longer! There should be regulations in place to prevent this abuse! It is very easy to develop cheap electronic battery management systems that make batteries last longer, but they are hard to find on the market.
