Benadski: USB-C power looks nice as it has bi-directional capability, voltage negotiating and more nice features. But it is far from simple and cheap. Lowest cost chip from TI is about 1.99 at 1k units and it is only a part of the stuff needed for a working system. Needs a team of hardware and software developers and sponsors to make this a success I think... Probably needs software for every OS too, for setting of battery sharing level. And are people willing to share much of their battery capacity? Laptop is one of the things used most on camps.
